The health care provider may use one or more of the following test to access fertility.

- Gonad disorder.
- Pituitary disorder
- Sperm transport disorder
CAUSES OF SPERM ABNORMALITY
- Abnormally developed testis
- Inflammation of the testicle
- Swollen veins in the scrotum
- Hormone disorder
- Genetic conditions
- Alcohol, Tobacco and other hard drugs.
- Infections
- Wearing tight boxers
The health care provider may use one or more of the following test to access fertility.
- Semen analysis: this is used to ascertain the quality of the sperm.
- Blood test: to check for infections or hormone problems.
- Physical examination of the penis, scrotum and prostate.
- Sperm count: 20 - 300 million per millilitre are considered normal. Below 10 million are considered poor.
- Volume of semen: 2 milliter are considered normal.
- Morphology: the size and shape of the sperm affect its ability to swim and fertilize an egg. 30% of normally shaped sperm are considered normal.
- Motility: the number of active cells is rated in percentage, from 1- 100 with 50% considered the minimum.
- Take medications to boost sperm production
- Take antibiotics to heal the infections
- Take hormones to improve hormone imbalance
- Stop wearing tight boxers
- Stop alcohol and other hard drugs.
- With the use of herbal drugs.
